Antique Oriental Carpets & Rugs in Clevedon
Haliden Oriental Carpets was founded in 1988 following a chance encounter with antique carpets in Amsterdam. Our journey began with a shared passion for Persian rugs and tribal textiles, evolving into a global business supplying discerning clients with handcrafted antique carpets, rugs, and runners. Over three decades, we've built expertise in sourcing, restoring, and selling high-quality pieces ranging from room-sized carpets to collectible kilims. Our on-site workshop provides specialist cleaning and conservation services, combining traditional techniques with modern technology. We pioneered online sales in 1998, becoming one of the UK's earliest dedicated antique carpet websites.Today, we operate from Clevedon, offering a curated collection of approximately 250 pieces with free UK home trials and insured worldwide shipping. Our team maintains deep industry knowledge through participation in international fairs and collaborations with collectors and decorators. We specialise in handling fragile textiles with care, including moth-proofing treatments and dye-stabilisation processes. Our transparent approach includes detailed condition reports for all items, with conservation work documented to museum standards. With generations of combined experience, we provide expert valuations and tailored advice for both private and trade clients.
